As we know menopause is a natural time in a woman’s life and one where each woman’s experience will be entirely individual and unique to her. What we also know is this time in a woman’s life can be a challenge – both personally and in the workplace.

For every ten women experiencing menopausal symptoms, six say it has a negative impact on their work. But with the right support, there’s no need for women to press pause on their career during this natural transition time. The problem is many women will continue to suffer in silence unless we break the taboo and start talking openly about the menopause at work.

So, this year we wanted to take the opportunity to find out more about what Ireland’s employers are doing on this very important topic. Today we’re talking to Kathryn Whyte, Head of People and Culture in the Office of Government Procurement, the Central Purchasing Body of the Government of Ireland about this important topic.
