This will provide an update on the work of CIPD Ireland in 2018/2019 on your behalf.  In CIPD Ireland, we have made good progress in the past year, with an increase in engagement with members across the country. We expanded our programme of activity, hosted the CIPD Ireland HR Awards 2019, raised our voice at government policy level and produced valuable research insights for you to benchmark pay and HR practices. CIPD Ireland National Committee

With the resignation of Shane Twomey from the National Committee, there is one vacant position on the committee to be filled.  CIPD members may nominate a CIPD member to go forward to represent members on the CIPD Ireland National Committee for two years. Should there be more nominations than vacant places, an election may be held.

Proposers should use the Nomination Form and return it by 17:00 on Thursday 29 August 2019 to the Honorary Secretary, CIPD Ireland, A3 The Locks, Charlotte Quay, Dublin 4, or by email to

All individual CIPD members are entitled to nominate and second candidates, and to vote at the Annual Meeting. Only those attending the Annual Meeting on 12 September 2019 will be entitled to vote.

Barry Holmes, Director of Human Resources, RCSI, continues in his position of Chair, and Alison Hodgson remains as Vice Chair and Joyce Rigby Jones as Secretary. Many thanks to Shane Twomey for his support and commitment as a valuable member of the National Committee.

HR compliance and excellence: updates and insights

The Annual Meeting will be followed at 18.15 by exploring excellence in HR. This will incorporate an update from Arthur Cox on parental leave changes alongside the launch of the prestigious CIPD Ireland HR Awards 2020.  Members of the Awards judging panel, including the Chair of the judges Prof Bill Roche, will share their insights into what they look for in evaluating HR practices and why winnng entries stand out

The evening will conclude with networking and a wine reception at 19.30.
