The Role

We have a new and exciting position as a HR Projects & Engagement Manager based in our Ireland office to cover a period of maternity leave. We currently have 5,500 members across Ireland and a critical part of this position is to engage with the CIPD members and partners to gather local market and member insight to inform the development of relevant and valued member and content propositions as well as informing CIPD’s policy position in Ireland.

We are looking for someone to bring both national and internationally relevant research to market in close collaboration with CIPD colleagues, to ensure CIPD Ireland has a voice, attracts new members and the CIPD brand delivers impact, relevance and optimal service in Ireland.

The role requires flexibility as the person will work in a small team, based in our new office in Dublin - A3 The Locks, Charlotte Quay, Dublin 4.

There is a wide variety of work covering all aspects of CIPD’s offering as well as close collaboration with CIPD UK.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage HRM projects, drawing on related CIPD and others’ work, to produce high quality content that will attract the respect and attention of the media, politicians, government officials, members and customers 
  • Define and plan HRM projects including the CIPD Ireland survey research agenda, and collaborate with partners to progress, deliver outputs and disseminate, in collaboration with the CIPD Director Ireland and CIPD colleagues 
  • Support the development and continued evolution of the CIPD Ireland membership proposition through enhancing our resources, voice, and influence with our membership and the wider community 
  • Stay up to date with the national workforce policy and employment law agenda, scan international CIPD research and work with members and HR leaders to gain insights as to what policy priorities are appropriate 
  • Plan and undertake dissemination activities of insights
  • Generate programme ideas, identify speakers, support events and work collaboratively, to contribute to the impact of CIPD conferences and events in Ireland.

Knowledge, skills & experience

  • Experience in setting up and delivering projects and policy content in the relevant field of HRM 
  • Experience in project management 
  • Proven experience in facilitation and speaking in public 
  • Graduate calibre or equivalent – in either HR or Business 
  • Excellent understanding of the key people issues of the moment and need to be able to give clear leadership and insight on latest thinking in their particular field of expertise and have an-depth understanding of how these fit into wider HR practice issues 
  • Credible and skilled influencer with excellent customer care and influencing skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills and able to deal effectively at senior level 
  • Knowledge of the work of CIPD, ideally a member with an understanding of the professional development sector.

The Role

We have a new and exciting position as a Project Support Executive based in our Ireland office. You will work with the CIPD Ireland team to enable high standard of service delivery to members and the profession. You will provide technical and operational project support to key activities such as the HR Awards, member communications including the CIPD Ireland Update and website, and the operation of the regional structures.

As a key member of a small agile team, the role will also be required to contribute to a high standard of customer service and support the ongoing activity and events of the team. Collaborate with colleagues across the CIPD to deliver a high standard of service. Contribute to the engagement with members and potential members in a flexible manner in conjunction with colleagues to better service the profession and build the CIPD brand in Ireland.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide project co-ordination and administrative support where required and particularly to the CIPD Excellence in HR Awards process by managing the administration and logistics for the judging process 
  • Understand the profile of HR and of CIPD members in Ireland and avenues to engage with them. Responsible for the uploading and distribution of the monthly CIPD Ireland Update and other regular and once-off communications to members and others. Collaborate with UK and Irish colleagues on use of the CRM and other systems and the database of members 
  • Liaise with the Regional committees in Ireland on their planned activities and deliver agreed communication and supports around activities and Eventbrite. Understand the structure and content of the cipd.ie website and create the pages and upload content in line with CIPD web policy and communications plans 
  • Provide a high standard of customer service and support the programme of events in order to enhance customer engagement and the desired reach and impact of CIPD Ireland.

Knowledge, skills & experience

  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, and previous experience of providing project co-ordination support is desired 
  • Excellent team player, with a flexible approach, whilst also being able to work on own initiative without close supervision 
  • Able to work under pressure and to deadlines 
  • Able to demonstrate high levels of customer service and strong attention to detail 
  • Good written and spoken communication skills and an ability to articulate the central message of a communication 
  • Advanced level of IT skills is essential, particularly in Word/Excel/PowerPoint, while an understanding of website structures is desirable. Training on CIPD platform will be provided 
  • Previous experience of workplace databases and communication processes is desirable. Training will be provided 
  • Interested in HR and people management issues
