The CIPD is the professional body for HR and people development - responsible for championing better work and working lives. We set the gold standard for people management and development and influence policy and practice in the world of work.

With a highly respected Royal Charter, we’re the only professional body in the world that can award Chartered status to individual HR and L&D professionals, making us the career partner of choice for more than 5,000 CIPD members in Ireland and more than 140,000 worldwide.

As an independent and not for profit organisation, our research and insights make us trusted advisers on the world of work.

Our work began in the UK more than 100 years ago, and expanded into Ireland in 1937. Today we work all across the world - with hubs in the UK, Ireland, the Middle East and Asia.

In Ireland, we are focussed on the CIPD's strategic development, its growth, engagement with members, and the national policy agenda. We build strategic relationships with key government departments, other relevant bodies and HR leaders to enable this.

Our engagement with members is strengthened by a range of thought leadership conferences and workshops as well as HR research and awards programmes to recognise good HR practice in Ireland. Our strong membership is increasing, enhanced by a growing community of students following CIPD qualifications. Six nationwide regional volunteer committees deliver a range of interesting engagement events at local level.
